Before the Draft 2015: Why the Eagles will not get Marcus Mariota
I'll begin with a supposition that contradicts the title: Let's say the Eagles trade a bunch of draft picks, plus Sam Bradford, Brandon Boykin, and Mychal Kendricks, for the right to pick Marcus Mariota with the 2nd pick in the draft. [There's even hot air being blown about the Eagles trading away star defensive end Fletcher Cox!]
Suupose this happens. The Eagles sacrifice some depth and talent, but that's OK, because Chip finally has "his" QB.
We'll assume the best case scenario: Mariota plays very well for the first six games, and the Eagles' offense looks like an unstoppable juggernaut.

Something to smile about
In the lull between NFL free agency and the draft, I figured this picture would give the die-hard Eagles fans (really, is there any other kind?) something to smile about.
In case you don't remember...check out this recap on NFL.com.
In case that link goes down, there's another recap at ESPN. Also worth noting: the Eagles-Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game of 2014 was one of the most-watched TV shows of the entire fall 2014! So, not only did the Eagles give Dallas a drubbing, they did it in front of 32 million viewers!

Is Sam Bradford worth the trade?
The initial reaction to the Nick Foles-for-Sam Bradford trade, announced early in free agency, was overwhelmingly negative--probably because the Eagles gave up draft picks as well as Nick Foles. I must admit that my initial reaction to acquiring the injury-prone QB wasn't too exuberant either!
Philadelphia, as many fans know by now, traded starting QB Nick Foles, a fourth-round draft pick in 2015, and a second-round pick in 2016 to the St. Louis Rams in exchange for starting QB Sam Bradford and the Rams' fifth-round pick in 2015.

Eagles season recap and lingering issues
After having watched the Eagles soar to a 9-3 record at the beginning of the season, and after having watched those same Eagles plummet to lose 3 straight and finish the season by missing the playoffs with a 10-6 record, many fans are wondering what went wrong.
